Care begins when someone shows up.
MJ Bustamante began with what she could give. Others came alongside her, and the work grew.
It began with a decision to show up.
In 2013, MJ Bustamante (MJ) began advocating for rural communities in the Philippines where access to health care, education, and basic resources was limited. She did not have the means to meet every need herself. She started by bringing people and organizations together.
Medical missions, food distribution, and school supply drives became possible through those shared efforts. Each person who joined brought something different: time, professional skill, goods, or a willingness to be there.
In 2022, MJB Cares Foundation was registered in the Philippines to help carry the work forward. Its story is one of practical compassion, built with communities and volunteers over time.

Behind every mission is a person whose life matters.
The mission now has room for more of us.
MJB Cares Foundation USA carries that spirit into a new chapter. We are building relationships with people who want to give, volunteer, and create opportunities that last. The needs are different in every community, but the first step remains the same: listen, see the person, and act with care.
Our current partners bring additional ways to contribute. Their growth can create paid work, while their support can help sustain the foundation’s mission. We are developing U.S. programs with that broader circle of people beside us.
